In 2000, UCS opened a whole-new page: it obtained certificates from global payment systems Visa and MasterCard. That certification entitled UCS to maintain issue activities, namely, support ATM transactions, manage bank card databases, and render personalization services. Since then, cooperation with banks on issuing card products started to evolve as a separate stream.

Starting from April 2016, Global Payments shares are listed within S&P 500. S&P 500 is a stock market index that measures the stock performance of 500 world's greatest companies listed on stock exchanges in the United States. Standard & Poor's introduced the list in 1957. The core criteria determining inclusion of a company in S&P 500 are market cap over $5.3B and general financial stability. That inclusion in S&P 500 proved the business development strategy chosen by the company was totally correct.
